Shadow Keep COLOR This is an Adventure Game Mactivity's CD-ROM nr 10 advice: This application did run on a color 68030 processor under System 7.1, but the behaviour on a ColorScreen of a PowerMacintosh running System 7.1.2 was not satisfying. Our advice: use only on 68030 processors, or try with caution on a 68040 processor Attention: needs a COLOR monitor. Only the elder knights of Shadow Keep remember the Great Battle with the Evil Overlord, a battle in which The Black Sword, his powerful magical weapon, was lost by him in the heat of battle and his forces routed. Not even in the dark corners of taverns do they whisper his name, especially not in the darkness. . . . But through childhood tales, all in the kingdom have heard of that evil knight/magician, and his uncanny ability to heal himself even in the midst of battle . . . and the tales recount that it was not until The Black Sword was lost to him did his hideous grin turn to a scornful grimace. For in the final hours of The Great Battle, The Black Sword was turned against him, and as many slain and maimed knights had already learned, the blows by that vile weapon did not heal, neither by nature nor by magic. After The Great Battle, the people of Shadow Keep celebrated, although there was still much to grieve over. For one thing, the noble birds which bore the king's aerial lancers had all been slain . . . the Evil Overlord had paid special attention to those feathered steed. After many years of searching, John, the royal bird-master declared them extinct. Furthermore, many of the bravest of the king's elite guard had been slain, or even worse . . . lived . . . with wounds that never went away. Your father was one of these. . . .
