Number Aquarium 1.0 Demo

Mactivity's CD-ROM nr 10 advice: This application did
run on a b/w 68030 processor under System 7.1. It was
also tested on a big ColorScreen of a PowerMacintosh
running System 7.1.2. The game was also tested on a
Quadra with 68040 processor and a 13 inch Color Screen
and System 7.1 by Mactivity.
Welcome to the Number Aquarium no-sound demo! We developed
the full version of this program as a fun way to help
youngsters learn the basics of writing and counting
the numbers 1 through 20. Number Aquarium integrates
sound and animation to teach number formation and recognition
to early education students. In the first of two activities,
the numbers 1 through 20 are each represented by animals
of the sea, which show how to draw the numbers. For
instance, Pamela Penguin demonstrates how to draw the
number four. The child can then use the mouse or other
pointing device (such as the TouchWindow® or certain
adaptive devices) to draw the number, with their progress
traced on screen. The second activity emphasizes counting
skills. Each animal presents a number of objects to
be counted. The child then points to each object and
the software counts along with the child.
IntelliTrace(TM) Technology
A proprietary technology for tracing was developed specifically
for this software. IntelliTrace(TM) allows the child
to use the mouse or alternative input device with relative
ease, while giving real-time feedback of the child's
progress.
This is the no-sound demo version of Number Aquarium,
containing only the numbers 1 through 5. We have
removed the sounds so that the file would be smaller
for downloading purposes. There is also a demo available
on most online services containing the sounds, should
you wish to spend the longer download time. One of
the big advantages of the full version of Number Aquarium
is the sounds, so please register your shareware to
get the benefit of the auditory feedback!
