Mac Avenger 0.1b
This is a Shooting Game
Mactivity's CD-ROM nr 10 advice: This application did
run on a b/w 68030 processor under System 7.1. It was
also tested on a big ColorScreen of a PowerMacintosh
running System 7.1.2. The game was also tested on a
Quadra with 68040 processor and a 13 inch Color Screen
and System 7.1 by Mactivity.
MacAvenger is a game I'm in the middle of writing.
This is a BETA version. IT NEEDS AN 8-BIT MONITOR!!
Don't download unless you have a 8-bit (256 color)
monitor. This has been tested and runs fine on a IIcx,
LC, and Quadra 700 and runs under system 6 or 7. The
sounds will not work properly on systems earlier than
sys-6.0.7, if you use an earlier system turn the sound
off. You move your guy with the keyboard and you fire
by moving the mouse. These controls allow you to move
in one direction while rapid-firing in another. You
must destroy the evil robots which come at you from
all sides while rescuing the defenseless humans. Lots
(and I mean LOTS) of bad guys come at you. There are
some pretty neat explosions and graphical and sound
effects. This has some of the fastest color animation
Ive seen on a Mac, IMBO (In My Biased Opinion). It
has a solid Mac interface and on-line help. It might
remind you of a robot arcade game from the 1980's.
If you tire of the easier slow-paced games you might
want to give this a try. Its a considerable d/l so
if you do spend the time to d/l it, please drop me
email on how you liked it. This is the first time
Ive ever u/l something that Ive written, and I have
more stuff I plan on releasing in the future. Also,
to get the fast animation I draw directly to the screen
buffer - although I worked pretty hard on making in
compatable it may not work w/ graphic accelerators
or the Radius Pivot - I dont know really. If you find
an incompatability - let me know
